Dr. D.K. Olukoya Donates State-of-the-Art Organ to CAC Yaba

In a remarkable display of generosity and commitment to the advancement of church music, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has donated a state-of-the-art 4-Manual Organ to Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Yaba Headquarters. This magnificent instrument, valued at a significant amount, shows Dr. Olukoya's passion for empowering youths and his dedication to supporting the growth of excellent and spirit-filled music ministry.

The Valde series is the 10th year anniversary series for Altus Klass, the first company to build organs based on the magnificent Hauptwerk virtual pipe organ (VPO) technology in Nigeria and the second in Africa. In collaboration with Eminent Orgelbouw (The Netherlands), Altus Klass through research have been designing bespoke VPOs for Nigeria since 2013. And as will be revealed in the coming weeks, the CAC Yaba organ is a marked departure from the norm, especially in terms of tone generation, audio configuration and operational features.

This 4-Manual Organ is the first of its kind and boasts an impressive array of features, including a wide range of tonal colors, advanced digital signal processing, and a sleek, ergonomic design.

CAC YABA: A HUB OF CHURCH MUSIC EXCELLENCE

CAC Yaba, a renowned hub of church music in Nigeria, has been at the forefront of promoting exceptional music and worship for several decades. Under the visionary leadership of Elder S.K.O Annan, who recently retired as the Director of Music and Organist after an illustrious 46 years of service, the church has consistently nurtured and developed numerous talents, including the current leadership of the choir.

The church's music ministry is currently led by a team of dedicated and gifted individuals, including Elder Sesan Taiwo, a versatile tenor singer, who serves as the current Choirmaster. Ayo Ajayi, a highly skilled musician, is the current Organist, while Mr. Seun Owoaje, a piano virtuoso, music arranger, and composer (Ph.D. in view), serves as the Assistant Choirmaster (Training). Additionally, Lekan Olúwalónimí-Olúyelú, a talented Bass singer, is the Assistant Choirmaster (Administration).

Furthermore, CAC Yaba has also been instrumental in nurturing the talents of other notable musicians, including Dr. Tolu Owoaje, the founding Head of Department of the University of Ibadan Music Department; Dr. Ayo Oluranti ( Honorary Organist of the Church ) ; Adejola Adeosun, the Master of Music at Christ Church, Marina; Tunde Akande; Pastor Lekan Komaiya an organist, and Jibola Oluyelu a composer and choir conductor among others.

The donated organ, an Altus Klass VALDE series, is a masterpiece of modern technology and craftsmanship, designed by Dr. Ayodamope Oluranti ( The Honorary Organist of the Church), the renowned composer of Messiah Baba Mi, Polongo, Ise Orin, and many other outstanding works, who was nurtured by this great church.

Dr. Oluranti, the designer of the organ, has written over 200 sacred works and arrangements for Christendom, and his music has been performed in various parts of the world. He is also a respected music theorist, having written several articles and papers on music theory.

APPRECIATION FROM CHURCH

The Church expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Olukoya in a letter of appreciation by the Church Choir through Mr. Lekan Olúwalónimí-Olúyelú (Assistant Choirmaster), stating, "Your remarkable act of kindness only tells of your unwavering commitment to supporting the advancement of good music and the worship of God in Nigeria and beyond."

Concurrently, Mr. Ezekiel Adedoyin, an affiliate of the church and music icon, also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Olukoya on a Facebook post, thanking him for his kind gesture and his support for the promotion of good music in the body of Christ.

The organ was officially brought into the church on November 28, 2024, and is expected to be inaugurated in the coming weeks.

As the church family celebrates this incredible gift, they are reminded of the power of generosity and the impact it can have on the lives of others.
