Lead City University Appoints Mr. Wale Ebenezer Ogundipe as Musical Director

Lead City University, Ibadan, a renowned private University known for its academic excellence, innovative research, and exceptional pragmatism, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Wale Ebenezer Ogundipe as its new Musical Director, effective from February 3, 2025. This appointment is a significant milestone for the University, as it underscores its commitment to excellence in music education and performance.
A Seasoned Music Professional

Mr. Wale Ogundipe brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. A certified member of the the Guild of Organists of Nigeria, he has a proven track record of success in music education and performance. His extensive background includes stints as a Keyboard Instructor at St. Mathias Anglican High School, Akure, Ondo State, and as a staff member at Command Day Secondary School, 32, Artillery Brigade, Owena Barracks, Akure, also served at Command Day Secondary School 2Div Headquarters Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan.
Prior Experience as Organist and Choirmaster

Until his appointment, Mr. Ogundipe served as the Organist and Choirmaster of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Inalende, Ibadan, in the Ibadan Anglican Diocese. His illustrious career has seen him hold similar positions in various churches, including:
- St. Jude's Anglican Church, Textile Road, Ado-Ekiti
- St. Luke's Anglican Church, Ile-Abiye, Ado-Ekiti
- St. James Anglican Church, Oke-Oniyo, Ado-Ekiti
- St. Thomas Cathedral (Youth Chapel), Hospital Road, Badagry, Lagos
- St. Peter's Anglican Church, Ijare, Ondo State
- St. Paul's Anglican Church, Odode, Idanre, Ondo State
- St. Michael's Anglican Church, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State
- St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Kajola Quarters, Akure, Ondo State
- St. Patrick's Anglican Church, Ijebu-Owo, Ondo State
Adjudication Experience

Mr. Ogundipe has also served as a judge in Diocesan Choir competitions in various Anglican Dioceses, including Idoani, Ekiti-Oke, Owo, Ilesa, and Akure.
Professional Affiliations
He is a certified member of The Guild of Organists of Nigeria and the Association of Church Musicians (Ibadan Anglican Diocese). Additionally, he is a certified member of the Ondo State Organists Forum.
He's the current Publicity Secretary of the Guild of Organists of Nigeria, Southwest Zone
Educational Background

Mr. Ogundipe holds degrees from prestigious institutions, including Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU), and Université de Lomé, Togo. His educational background has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in his role as Music Director.
Responsibilities as Musical Director

As Musical Director, Mr. Ogundipe will be responsible for coordinating the University Choir and collaborating with the Performing Arts department for cultural events. He will also prepare the University Choir for significant functions, such as, convocation, inaugural lectures and notable dates. Additionally, he will organize musical concerts and festivals within the University community.
University Chapel Responsibilities

Mr. Wale Ogundipe will also oversee the Chapel Choir, preparing them for quarterly Community Hymns Singing, Hymnal concerts, and Classical concerts. He will conduct voice auditions for the chapel choir and train interested choristers.
